Our commitments to First Nations peoples
Acknowledgement of Country: We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters across Australia, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Principles and protocols
- Free, prior and informed consent for all contributions
- Fair remuneration and transparent attribution
- Right of review and withdrawal where requested
- Protection of cultural and intellectual property
- Local context and language specificity
How we collaborate
We work through existing relationships and referrals. Briefs are written in plain language and include audience, purpose, and payment terms. We avoid tight turnarounds that pressure contributors.
Governance and advisory
Programs are reviewed by community advisors where relevant and by cultural safety peers. We document approvals and attributions in writing.
Community partnerships
We prioritise community enterprises and suppliers, and publish partner credits on event briefs and story pages where consented.
Fair remuneration
Contributor fees include preparation, delivery, and follow-up. Payment schedules are agreed in advance and honoured.
Consent and IP protection
We avoid recording sensitive content. When recording is requested, we use written consent with clear usage, timeframe, and storage details.
Learning and cultural safety
- Cultural Safety Briefings for leaders and teams
- Partner-led sessions with knowledge custodians
- Organisation training with policy templates
Partner voices
